IE8 a complete let down

I read somewhere that IE8 is aimed at people like me and you, for the web developers out there.
So i was (wrongly) excited that it would be the best thing MS has ever engineered.

This year microsoft has released visual studios, A new Server, a new sql Server a new MSN and a new browser. Most of these new releases were quite good, and i actually like all of the new controls, and stuff they added in visual studios 2008. However the new internet explorer is a complete joke.

I downloaded and installed it on monday after work, and my system required a restart so i thought its okay, i can just use it tomorow.
At work the next day i saw claims that the help it gives to the average Web Dev were going to be fantastic, allowing users to lasoo parts of the browser content, and view the mark up for just that bit.
Thats an astonoshing claim, and i would've really loved to use that. I was hoever disappointed.

My hompage is this site, and it rendered normally, so there was no reason to be worried. I quickly browsed some sites which have known cross browser issues, and i started with hotmail.
I logged in and what did i get?
The worst rendering page ever, i mean seriously folks IE7 rendered hotmail properly, but IE8 couldn't even render it. (i've enclosed an image)

Pull your finger out microsoft. If your going to make a new browser with sparking new functionality at the VERY least make your own pages render properly.
I was so heart broken.

I was so ready to write a nice blog entry comparing and contrasting the two browsers (IE7 and IE8). And hearing the news that the new FF beta is available, i was going to compare IE8 to FF3.
But again, i just want to slate off MS again.
