Have Google gone too far?
Recent plans by google have shown that they may have begun to abuse the power they have over the entire internet industry.
Firstly i'm not a fan of downloads that plug in to software, except for some of the genious ones that plug in to Fire Fox.
I mean who can live without the developers toolbar, and the Live http headers, bloody amazing tools.
One tool we can do without are the ones bespoke to a website used to monitor user usage or somthing.
The google toolbar is one of these things i hate. And new plans have revealed that if your page coughs the browser will take you to a "google branded" 404 page. Check the links on the bottom of the page to get an idea of what i mean.
Now don't get me wrong google have helped the little man so much, and actually favors the under dog to market leaders. There are so many ways google have provided to make a few pence for everyone on the net.
This new initiative has gone a bit too far now though. I use custom 404 pages to calculate where a user was s'posed to go, and NOW with this new toolbar google will whisk them off to thier own servers.
Its almost like they are stealing potential clientelle.
Lets hope they fix the errors of they're ways. C'mon mr Cutts, sort it out!.
