Firefox 3 is officially due to be released at some point in the 24hrs after 17th June 2008.
Firefox currently holds a 15% market share of all web browsers in the world. It has been favored by many web designers who love to use the add-ons provided.
The Mozilla project are set to make history today by setting a record for the highest recorded software downloads in the 24 hours after release.
FF3 has been in beta for a number of months now and following the success of FF2, FF3 is hoped to increase the market share of the browser from the current 15%.
New functionality includes greater detection for phishing sites, and a smart history bar which allows users to save sites without using bookmarks.
To be honest I'm not sure about the NEW functionality. but i am still excited to download the new software. and i will be helping the attempt at the record by downloading the software on each of my machines individually.
I will also be visiting all of my family tonight in an attempt to download more copies!
All i can say is it's gotta be better than IE8.
